Srinagar: The Kashmir Electrical Manufacturers Association held an emergency meeting at its Sanatnagar office, Srinagar, chaired by President Raja Nayeem Ahmed Khan, to discuss the adverse effects of recent shifts in JK administration’s industrial policy on the electrical equipment manufacturing sector.

The association resolved that the new policies are negatively impacting the financial health of existing industrial units, pushing many towards closure and increasing Non-Performing Assets (NPAs). Members expressed concerns that without government intervention, the stressed units will shut down, worsening the unemployment situation in the valley.

Suggestions from members will be collected and presented in a forthcoming press briefing, with the date and venue to be announced. The association plans to raise these issues with the highest authorities.

Secretary General Latif Shah stressed upon the association’s ongoing efforts to highlight the industry’s grievances. Members pledged continued support for the association’s initiatives.
