Ghazipur: A 15-year-old boy from Ghazipur has been arrested for allegedly killing his parents and brother after they opposed his marriage to a girl he had been in love with for two years, according to the police.
The police reported that they had recovered the sharp-edged weapon used in the murders, which occurred in Kusumhikala village under the Nandganj police station’s jurisdiction during the night of July 7-8.
Ghazipur Superintendent of Police, Omvir Singh, stated that the juvenile was detained, and the weapon, used to slit the throats of his father, Munshi Bind, 45, mother, Devanti Bind, 40, and elder brother, Ram Ashish Bind, 20, was recovered based on his information.
The boy admitted to the police that he had planned the murders several days in advance, acquiring and sharpening a ‘khurpa’ (an agricultural tool used for cutting grass and paddy).
Initially, he attempted to carry out the murders on July 7 but lacked the courage. On Sunday night, he attended an orchestra show at a pre-wedding function in the village with his brother Ashish. They returned around 11pm on Tuesday.
While his family slept, the boy consumed alcohol and, around 1 am on Wednesday, slit the throats of his father, mother, and brother. After committing the murders, he hid the ‘khurpa’ in a nearby field and returned to the orchestra show.
He came back home around 1:45 am on Wednesday and raised an alarm, alerting the locals that his family had been killed.
Following the incident, Munshi’s brother, Ram Prakash Bind, filed an FIR accusing Radhe Bind and his accomplices of the murders.
Special Operation Group, surveillance teams, and Nandganj police gathered intelligence, questioned locals, and collected evidence before taking the boy into custody for questioning, during which he confessed to the crime. He is scheduled to appear in a juvenile court on Wednesday.
