‘Committed to advocating for journalists’ rights’: PJA holds meet, sets goals

Pulwama: The Pulwama Journalist Association (PJA) held its meeting recently, bringing together members from across the district to discuss key issues and future goals.

President Shah Irshad ul Haq Qadri stressed upon the association’s achievements over the past year, including advocacy for press freedom, increased training opportunities, and collaboration with other media organisations.

“The Pulwama Journalist Association remains committed to advocating for the rights of journalists and promoting ethical journalism,” Qadri stated.

Discussions covered combating misinformation and the role of digital media in contemporary journalism. Members shared experiences and proposed solutions to current challenges faced by journalists.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Shabnam Fayaz, who appreciated members’ efforts and expressed optimism about future initiatives.

Key attendees included president Shah Irshad ul Haq Qadri, general secretary Younis Khaliq, spokesperson Umar Mukhtar, treasurer Akhtar Abbas, publicity secretary Bashir Ahmad Wani.

The other members of the organisation include, Shuja Sultan, Syed Aadil Mushtaq, Shabir Yousaf, Muzamil Rajab, Akhter Abbas, Burhan Bashir, Tariq Ahmad Dar, Aqeel Mukhtar and Nasir Mushtaq.
