Jammu: Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General M V Suchindra Kumar visited armed forces personnel deployed along the Line of Control (LoC) and in the interior areas of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri sector on Thursday, urging them to maintain full operational readiness.
The visit is part of the army commander’s ongoing inspections of border areas to assess security measures ahead of the three-phase assembly elections in the Union Territory, starting on September 18.
According to the Army’s Northern Command on X, Lt Gen Kumar, accompanied by the White Knight Corps Commander, visited forward positions in the Sunderbani sector to review the current security situation.
He received briefings on the coordination between armed forces and the region’s operational preparedness. During his visit to supporting units, the Army commander emphasised the importance of maintaining comprehensive operational readiness.
Additionally, Lt Gen Kumar visited troops stationed in the hinterland, where he was briefed on the security situation and operational readiness. He praised the troops for their efforts and encouraged all ranks to uphold high morale and professionalism in facing future challenges.
