‘Avoid all non-essential travel’: India issues travel advisory for its citizens amid Iran-Israel conflict

New Delhi: Amid rising tensions in West Asia due to the conflict between Iran and Israel, India announced on Wednesday that it is closely observing the escalating security situation in the region.

India also urged its citizens to avoid any non-essential travel to Iran.

Indian nationals currently living in Iran were advised to stay alert and maintain contact with the Indian Embassy in Tehran.

“We are closely monitoring the recent escalation in the security situation in the region,” said the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

“Indian nationals are advised to avoid all non-essential travel to Iran,” the MEA added.

“Those residing in Iran are urged to remain vigilant and stay in touch with the Indian Embassy in Tehran,” the statement concluded.
