Srinagar: The second edition of the Kashmir to Kanyakumari Cycle race commenced on Thursday, with participants from across the country and international cyclists taking part in the event.

Jammu and Kashmir’s Chief Secretary Atal Duloo flagged off the race and expressed hopes of making it an annual event.

“There are scores of cyclists participating this year, and we expect even more international participants next year,” he said.

The JK administration has pledged full support to the cyclists while they are in the region, with continued assistance from other states once they cross JK borders.

On October 20, another major event, the Kashmir Marathon, is scheduled, with 2000 participants expected.
