Srinagar: On Friday, MP Engineer Rashid staged a ‘peaceful’ protest outside Srinagar’s civil secretariat, calling for the revival of the darbar move.
During the demonstration, Rashid told reporters that for years, the government operated alternately from Jammu and Kashmir, but now people are uncertain about which city—Srinagar or Jammu—they should go to for addressing their issues.
He highlighted that many official files are stuck between the two locations, leaving public grievances unresolved.
Rashid also criticised Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, accusing him of breaking his promise to reinstate the darbar move.
“Omar Abdullah assured that once in power, he would bring back the darbar move, but he hasn’t delivered. People are suffering without clear guidance,” he remarked.
