The decisions and actions of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) are essential in stopping Israel’s current attacks on Palestine and Lebanon, Turkey’s president told Saudi Arabia’s crown prince on Monday.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan “highlighted the importance of measures by the OIC to curb Israeli aggression,” Turkey’s Communications Directorate announced on X, after Erdogan’s meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman on the sidelines of a summit in Riyadh.
Erdogan, who attended the Extraordinary Joint Summit of the OIC and the Arab League, discussed regional and global issues with Bin Salman, as well as strengthening ties between Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
“Stressing the need for unity among Muslim countries to stop Israel’s assaults on Palestine and Lebanon, President Erdogan said that Turkey has launched an initiative under the United Nations for an arms embargo on Israel and will continue efforts to gather broader support for this initiative,” the directorate noted.
