JK Govt will contribute immensely for development of education sector: Sakina Itoo

Srinagar: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare, and Education, Sakeena Itoo, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to advancing the education sector while addressing Children’s Day celebrations at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) Kashmir.

The event, organised by the Directorate of School Education Kashmir in collaboration with Bharti Airtel Foundation and Pi Jam Foundation, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of various higher educational institutions across the valley.

Speaking at the gathering, Sakeena Itoo highlighted the transformative role of education in shaping the future. “Children are the architects of tomorrow, and the future of Jammu and Kashmir rests on their shoulders,” she said. The Minister urged educators to nurture creativity, critical thinking, and human values among students to prepare them as future visionaries and leaders.

She emphasised that the government is committed to enhancing the education sector with innovative initiatives aimed at aligning with global standards. “Our government is working to revolutionise the education system, making it competitive with developed nations,” she added.

The Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-K, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Gania, echoed similar sentiments, emphasising the importance of equitable access to quality education and praising the institution’s recent achievements.
