Three Muslim women beaten, paraded naked by Dalit family in UP

Uttar Pradesh: Three Muslim women were allegedly beaten and paraded naked after accusations that their son had eloped with a Dalit girl on January 2 in Nebua Naurangia village of Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh

The girl’s family reportedly assaulted the boy’s mother and two aunts, forced them out of their home, burned their clothes, and paraded them around the village while recording the act. Villagers watched without intervening, The Observer Post reported.

The Dalit girl, who is married and resides in Gorakhpur, had gone missing a few days earlier, leading to accusations against the Muslim youth. The women claimed they were attacked despite denying knowledge of the girl’s whereabouts.

The boy’s mother reportedly fell seriously ill after the incident and, along with the other women, is now staying with relatives due to safety concerns.

Police stated that allegations of the women being paraded naked have not been confirmed. Cases of assault have been filed from both sides, and the girl’s in-laws have lodged a separate complaint in Gorakhpur.
