Real Kashmir FC, reduced to 10 men in the very first minute, displayed remarkable resilience to secure a 2-2 draw against Sreenidi Deccan FC in a dramatic I-League encounter on Tuesday. The match featured everything from penalties and goals to a red card.

Sreenidi Deccan opened the scoring twice through Faysal Shayesteh (2′) and Angel Orelien (15′), but Real Kashmir’s Paulo Cezar (4′) and Muhammad Hammad (22′) delivered crucial equalisers.

The game began on an intense note, with Real Kashmir’s Aminou Bouba receiving a red card within the opening minute for a foul inside the penalty box. Shayesteh converted the resulting penalty to give Sreenidi Deccan an early lead.

Despite being a man down, Real Kashmir struck back almost immediately. A quick short corner in the 4th minute saw Lalramsanga provide a pinpoint cross for Cezar, who nodded in the equaliser.

Sreenidi Deccan regained the advantage in the 15th minute when Orelien fired a powerful shot into the net after a sequence of precise passes carved open Real Kashmir’s defence.

However, Real Kashmir’s fighting spirit prevailed again. In the 22nd minute, Lalramsanga’s well-placed free-kick led to a partial clearance by the Sreenidi Deccan goalkeeper, allowing Hammad to pounce on the rebound and level the scores.

Both teams had chances to claim victory in the second half. Sreenidi Deccan, buoyed by their recent comeback win against Aizawl FC, came close on multiple occasions. Vanlalremdika hit the woodwork, while goalkeeper saves and a crossbar denied Orelien and Munoz.

Real Kashmir’s defence remained steadfast despite the numerical disadvantage, holding off Sreenidi Deccan’s late efforts to secure a hard-fought draw.

The result leaves Real Kashmir in 8th place with 10 points from eight matches, just ahead of 9th-placed Sreenidi Deccan, who also have 10 points but a lower goal difference.

In a separate match in Margao, Gokulam Kerala FC continued their unbeaten streak with a 1-0 win over Dempo SC, courtesy of Abhijith K’s 86th-minute goal. Gokulam climbed to second in the standings, while Dempo suffered their fourth consecutive defeat.
