Srinagar: Srinagar Police have detained six persons for allegedly inciting sectarian unrest through derogatory remarks. The accused have been lodged at Central Jail, Srinagar, following their arrest. The case was registered under sections 126 (crime of wrongful restraint) and 170 (planning cognisable offence) of the BNSS Act.
The Srinagar police stated that the persons were involved in posting and sharing inflammatory content aimed at creating divisions and disturbing public harmony. Police have taken a firm stance against such activities to maintain communal peace in the region.
Issuing a stern warning to the public, Srinagar police said that anyone found engaging in similar unlawful acts, including sharing sectarian content, will face strict legal action. “We are watching,” the statement read, underlining the seriousness of the matter.
