Srinagar: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday urged the Government of India to act carefully after the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. She said it was important to clearly distinguish between militants and common civilians.
Mehbooba warned that innocent people, especially those who stand against terror, must not be alienated. “There are reports of thousands being arrested and even houses of common Kashmiris being demolished along with those of militants,” she posted on X.
She appealed to the government to direct the authorities to ensure that innocent people do not suffer. “Alienating the common people only helps terrorists in their goal of spreading division and fear,” Mehbooba added.
