Goa: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, during his visit to INS Vikrant in the Arabian Sea on Friday, praised the Indian Navy’s silent yet powerful role in Operation Sindoor and warned Pakistan of the force’s unmatched maritime capabilities.

Singh said that had the Navy fully participated in the operation, Pakistan would have faced an even worse outcome than in 1971. “Back then, Pakistan was split in two. If the Navy had joined in this time, it might have been split into four,” he remarked.

Reviewing operational readiness aboard Vikrant, Singh highlighted the Navy’s aggressive posture, maritime superiority, and forward deployment that kept Pakistani naval forces confined to their own waters. He commended the Navy for stunning the enemy without firing a shot and praised the Western Fleet’s precision missile drills that sent a strong strategic signal.

“The Navy’s preparedness alone was enough to shake Pakistan. They saw our capability and were too afraid to challenge us at sea,” Singh said.

He added that Pakistan was “fortunate” the Navy didn’t fully engage in the operation, but warned that any future provocation would be met with decisive naval action.

“This was just a warm-up. If provoked again, the Navy will act—and then only God knows what will happen to Pakistan,” he said.
