For the first time ever, Kashmir’s premium cherries land in Saudi Arabia

Cherries from Kashmir successfully reached Saudi Arabia.

In a major milestone for agricultural exports from Jammu and Kashmir, the first-ever consignment of premium cherries from the Union Territory has successfully reached Saudi Arabia.

The Embassy of India in Riyadh announced that the cherries are now available in the Kingdom, offering consumers a taste of high-quality produce from Kashmir.

The commercial team from the Embassy, led by Counsellor (Commerce) Ms Manusmriti, visited Lulu Supermarket in Riyadh to receive and formally launch the consignment.

“This unique product showcases the growing export potential of Indian fruits in global markets,” the Embassy said in a post on X,

The experts are seeing it as a promising step forward in diversifying and expanding JK’s presence in international fruit markets, particularly in the Gulf region.
