Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday directed for widespread publicity of the Traffic Advisory related to Amarnath yatra, stressing that the common man must not face any inconvenience during the course of the annual pilgrimage.
Chairing a high-level meeting in Srinagar to review the final preparations for the Yatra, the LG emphasised the need for seamless coordination among District Administrations, Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), Traffic Police, and all stakeholder departments to ensure designated convoy movement of pilgrims and hassle-free implementation of the traffic management plan.
“Ensure that the general public is not put to hardship. The advisory must reach every household through all possible mediums,” he said.
The LG also directed Deputy Commissioners to personally monitor facilities at Lodgement Centres and sanitation units, ensuring they remain in good condition throughout the Yatra.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Additional Chief Secretary (Jal Shakti) Shaleen Kabra, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, Special DG (Coordination) S.J.M. Gillani, Principal Secretary (Home) Chandraker Bharti, Principal Secretary (Finance) Santosh D Vaidya, ADGP (CID) Nitish Kumar, and CEO SASB Dr Mandeep K. Bhandari, among other senior officials from civil and police administration.
The Lieutenant Governor took a detailed review of traffic and security arrangements as well as amenities being put in place by various departments to ensure a smooth, safe, and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage.
