Fresh allegations of JKSSB JE ‘paper leak’ trigger anger among aspirants; PDP slams Govt
Srinagar: Allegations of yet another paper leak surfaced on Sunday after the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) conducted the Junior Engineer (Electrical) examination, sparking outrage among aspirants and political leaders.
On social media, particularly on X, several users have shared videos purportedly showing JKSSB aspirants openly solving questions together, some even using mobile phones. The clips, now widely circulated, have further fuelled allegations of mismanagement and paper leaks.
From 2020 to 2025, almost every major recruitment exam in the Union Territory has faced controversies over leaks, scams or prolonged legal stays, leaving thousands of job-seekers frustrated.
Taking to social media, PDP MLA Waheed Para wrote: “Scam after scam, and now another SSB paper leak. Students are seen openly trying to solve problems, yet after banning books and locking schools, the government’s sale of exam papers is another blow to J&K’s youth.”
The PDP, in a statement on X, alleged that the government’s failure to safeguard the integrity of recruitment examinations had compounded the crisis of unemployment. “This is the so-called ‘youth package’ for a region where 65% of the population is under 35,” the party said.
Candidates appearing in today’s exam expressed deep concern, demanding an impartial probe and long-term reforms to restore faith in the recruitment process.
In one of the videos circulating online, an official, seemingly from the JKSSB department, is seen standing alongside a police officer and addressing a group of aspirants. In his brief speech, the official can be heard acknowledging that the authorities had “seen what happened today,” seemingly referring to instances of cheating, and assuring candidates that the matter would be reported to the board for necessary action.
Authorities concerned have not issued any immediate response to the fresh allegations.
