New Delhi: Air India, IndiGo and SpiceJet on Thursday, January 15, said several international flights were affected after Iran shut its airspace amid ongoing anti-government protests and heightened tensions with the United States.

Air India said flights passing through the region are being rerouted, which may result in delays, while some services have been cancelled where rerouting is not feasible. The airline urged passengers to check flight status before reaching airports, stressing that passenger safety remains its top priority.

IndiGo also reported disruptions to some international operations and said teams are working to assist affected passengers with alternative arrangements. SpiceJet issued a similar advisory.

Iran has extended the closure of its airspace to commercial aircraft without providing an explanation.
