Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it launched a new barrage of attacks as part of the 53rd wave of its “Operation True Promise 4,” firing around 10 hypersonic Fatah and Qadr ballistic missiles along with drones toward Israeli-linked targets.
The operation is part of Tehran’s ongoing retaliation campaign against Israel and US interests in the region.
At the same time, air-raid sirens were activated across parts of northern Israel after incoming rockets were detected from Lebanon. Israeli authorities said warning alerts were triggered in communities including Ma’alot-Tarshiha in the Upper Galilee, as Hezbollah fighters launched several rocket barrages from southern Lebanon toward Israeli territory.
The attacks are part of the rapidly escalating confrontation between Iran, Israel and allied armed groups across the Middle East.
The IRGC launched “Operation True Promise 4” following recent U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian territory and military assets. The campaign has involved multiple waves of ballistic missiles, hypersonic weapons, and drones targeting Israeli military sites and U.S. bases across the region.
Iran has deployed several types of missiles during these operations, including the Fatah series — which Tehran describes as hypersonic — and Qadr ballistic missiles, designed to travel long distances at very high speeds and potentially evade missile defense systems.
Iran has said the campaign targets Israeli and U.S. military infrastructure and will continue as long as strikes on its territory persist. The operation includes the use of several missile systems and drones, part of Iran’s broader strategy of sustained retaliation and regional pressure.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah — a powerful Iran-backed group in Lebanon — has stepped up rocket fire into northern Israel, further widening the conflict along Israel’s northern border. Israel continues airstrikes across southern Lebanon and Beirut’s southern suburbs, targeting what they say are Hezbollah military sites.
The fighting has caused major humanitarian consequences in Lebanon, with hundreds of people killed and hundreds of thousands displaced as Israeli strikes and cross-border exchanges intensify.
