JK clears ₹18,382 crore in liabilities, says CM Omar Abdullah

Srinagar: Omar Abdullah on Tuesday informed the Assembly that liabilities worth Rs 18,382 crore have been cleared in Jammu and Kashmir.

He said Rs 12,561 crore in pending bills — including gratuity, commutation, leave salary and contractor payments — have been settled up to March 27, 2026. Additionally, Rs 5,821 crore in General Provident Fund (GPF) claims has been disbursed.

The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring timely payments to employees and contractors, stressing a continued focus on fiscal discipline and accountability.
