New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on June 11 called on Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in New Delhi and discussed a range of issues concerning the Union Territory, including the early restoration of statehood, the economy and the pace of development.
During the meeting, Abdullah underscored the need for the early restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and sought continued support from the GoI to accelerate economic growth and development in the region.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the importance of strengthening connectivity, generating employment opportunities, expanding infrastructure and enhancing public welfare across Jammu and Kashmir.
He urged the Government of India to extend sustained assistance to help the Union Territory achieve its developmental goals and address the aspirations of its people.
Abdullah also congratulated Prime Minister Modi on completing 12 uninterrupted years in office and wished him success in his continued service to the nation.
