7-day deadline issued for Bandipora, Baramulla and Kupwara
Baramulla: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir has directed all educational institutions and offices in North Kashmir to install complaint boxes to strengthen transparency and grievance redressal.
As per a circular issued, by the Office of the Joint Director North, a copy of which lies with GNS states that all Chief Education Officers, Zonal Education Officers, Heads of Institutions and other subordinate offices in districts Bandipora, Baramulla and Kupwara shall install a Complaint Box at a prominent and easily accessible location.
The circular states that the boxes must be properly labelled and opened periodically by the Head of the Office/Institution or an authorised officer for timely examination and disposal of grievances received. A record of complaints and action taken will also have to be maintained.
The department has asked all concerned to ensure strict compliance within seven days from the date of issuance of the circular.
After the stipulated period, the Chief Education Officers of Bandipora, Baramulla and Kupwara have been asked to furnish a consolidated compliance report regarding installation of Complaint Boxes in all offices and schools under their jurisdiction to the undersigned.
The move aims to promote accountability and provide students, staff and the public with a direct mechanism to register grievances within the school education system in North Kashmir. (GNS)
