Srinagar: Shopian Police have registered two separate cases against people who burst firecrackers during wedding functions in violation of the ban imposed by the District Magistrate.
In a handout to GNS, Police said that despite repeated public advisories and the prohibitory orders issued by the District Magistrate prohibiting the use of firecrackers, the rules were flouted during marriage In this regard, FIR No. 148/2026 and FIR No. 151/2026 have been registered at Police Station Shopian and investigations have been set in
Shopian Police said the ban orders continue to remain in force and will be implemented strictly. It warned that anyone found violating the restrictions will face legal action under relevant laws.
The public has been urged to cooperate with the administration and police and ensure that all social and public gatherings are held in accordance with the laid-down rules, reads the statement.
