Israeli forces were preventing the transfer of wounded Palestinians from the Ras al-Ain area of Qusra in the occupied West Bank after an armed attack by Israeli settlers, the village mayor told Al Jazeera.
The reported restrictions came as tensions remained high in Qusra, south of Nablus, where Palestinian families have faced a prolonged siege by settlers and Israeli forces. Al Jazeera reported that settlers have surrounded three Palestinian homes in Ras al-Ain, while Israeli forces declared the area a closed military zone.
The latest attack reportedly left people injured, with the mayor saying Israeli forces were preventing their transfer for medical treatment. The circumstances of the attack and the number and condition of those wounded were not immediately clear.
Earlier reports from the area stated Israeli forces had restricted access to emergency teams and blocked aid and supplies from reaching residents. Al Jazeera also reported that Israeli soldiers had prevented Palestinian Red Crescent teams from reaching other areas following settler attacks.
