Marqa, a Palestinian village southwest of Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank, has recently seen Israeli military activity. On Aug. 10, Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that Israeli forces began bulldozing Palestinian-owned land between Marqa and nearby Qabatiya to establish what it described as a military site and construct a road.
The alleged incident occurred in the context of growing tensions and increasing clashes between Israeli settlers and Palestinian communities in the West Bank.
The region has also seen an increase in Israeli military activity. An Israeli airstrike outside Jenin killed a Hamas operative and two others, according to the Israeli military reported by Reuters on Friday.
