Iranian media reported that airlines may resume services at Konarak airport in Iran’s southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan province after the war led to the flight restrictions at the airport.
The restrictions were lifted Sunday after the government worked to restore air services at airports affected by the conflicts, Ataollah Akbari, deputy governor for development affairs of Sistan and Baluchestan said.
“With the follow-ups and coordination that have been carried out, the flight restrictions at Konarak airport were lifted today,” Akbari told the Tasnim news agency. Airlines now are planning flights to destinations across Iran from the airport, he said.
Separately, Iranian authorities said they were easing wartime restrictions on aviation as safety conditions improved.
