A Palestinian man was shot dead when Israeli forces surrounded a house and opened fire during an early-morning military incursion into Aqraba, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, Palestinian media reported on Tuesday.
Local sources claimed that Israeli forces surrounded a house in the al- Dairiya neighborhood and ordered a man inside to surrender, threatening to blow up the house if he refused. But the man didn’t give up, the reports said.
Witnesses reported sustained gunfire and at least two explosions coming from inside or around the house. Later, Israeli forces brought a military bulldozer to the area and fired an Energa projectile at the building, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
Palestinian media later identified the man as Abdul Karim Bani Jaber, saying he was shot dead during the operation.
The Israeli military had not yet issued a statement confirming the circumstances of the killing.
