The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly was adjourned on Monday amid noisy protests by opposition members who raised a host of issues during the proceedings, local media reported.
Opposition members today raised concerns over jobs, outsourcing and other issues facing the government, disrupting the Question Hour.
Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather appealed to the protesting members to maintain order and let the proceedings continue. The protests, however, continued and the House adjourned until Tuesday.
The Assembly’s autumn session began on Monday and will have seven sittings over 10 days, according to the Assembly’s provisional calendar.
The opposition had earlier said it would raise issues, including unemployment, outsourcing and implementation of government promises, during the session. The House is scheduled to return Tuesday.
