Russia temporarily restricted flights at Moscow’s Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports and Kaluga airport, the country’s Federal Air Transport Agency said Saturday.
Only flights that have the approval of the relevant authorities can land or take off because of a temporary restriction on the use of airspace around Domodedovo, Rosaviatsia said. The agency warned it could change flight schedules, Interfax reported.
According to Russian authorities, temporary restrictions were also implemented in Vnukovo and Kaluga. The agency offered no immediate explanation for the measures.
Russian airports have been temporarily restricted from operating at times during the war with Ukraine, particularly during reported drone attacks. Similar restrictions were put in place at Moscow and Kaluga airports in December 2024, but the reason was not given.
The latest strikes come as Russia continues to report Ukrainian drone strikes on targets across the country. Moscow authorities have previously banned operations at airports when drones are flying around the capital.
