Many believe achieving global peace is impossible without India’s involvement, says RSS chief

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.

New Delhi: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday said that India frequently receives advice on addressing the concerns of its minority communities, even as the plight of minorities in other countries becomes increasingly evident.

Speaking at the inauguration of the ‘Hindu Seva Mahotsav,’ Bhagwat highlighted the paradox of calls for global peace alongside ongoing conflicts. “While big declarations are made about world peace, wars continue unabated. India is often urged to focus on its minorities, but we can see the challenges faced by minorities elsewhere,” he said.

Though Bhagwat did not explicitly reference violence against Hindus in Bangladesh, the RSS has recently raised concerns about their situation following the potential ousting of the Sheikh Hasina government.

He emphasised the importance of “Manav Dharma” (humanity), describing it as an eternal and universal principle also known as Hindu Dharma. According to Bhagwat, the world’s forgetfulness of this principle has contributed to modern issues, including environmental crises.

“Many outside India believe that achieving global peace is impossible without India’s involvement,” Bhagwat added, citing India’s rich tradition of upholding peace for over 3,000 years. He underscored India’s responsibility to meet this global expectation.
