Srinagar: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Kashmir has arrested a woman drug peddler who had been absconding for nearly three years in connection with an NDPS case.
The accused, identified as Tamana Ashraf, daughter of Mohammad Ashraf and a resident of Batamaloo, Srinagar, is wanted in FIR No. 10/2023 under Sections 8 and 20 of the NDPS Act, registered at ANTF Jammu.
According to officials, Tamana is involved in the trafficking of over 7kg of charas, which was allegedly being sent to Mumbai through courier services. Since the registration of the case, she had been evading arrest by frequently changing locations across different states.
Following sustained surveillance and intelligence-based efforts, ANTF J&K teams apprehended her from her residence in Batamaloo on January 1, 2026.
