Srinagar: Another Western Disturbance is likely to affect Jammu and Kashmir on February 1 and 2, bringing fresh spells of rain and snowfall across the Union Territory, the Meteorological Department (MeT) Srinagar said.

The MeT said the upcoming weather system is expected to cause light to moderate precipitation in many areas, while higher reaches may witness moderate to heavy snowfall at isolated places.

Officials said the fresh disturbance could again impact air and road traffic, particularly along the Srinagar-Jammu highway and in mountainous regions prone to snow accumulation.

The department advised residents, tourists and commuters to remain cautious and stay updated with weather advisories, especially in view of the ongoing unstable weather conditions.

Further details regarding intensity and area-wise impact are expected to be issued closer to the dates, MeT officials said.
