Teen among three women critically injured in road accident in Anantnag

All three shifted to SKIMS Soura after sustaining serious injuries in collision at Sangam in Bijbehara

Anantnag: A teenage girl was among three women critically injured in a road accident at Sangam in the Bijbehara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday, officials said.

The injured were initially taken to District Hospital Anantnag and later referred to SKIMS Soura due to the severity of their condition.

They have been identified as Sadiya Amin, 15, daughter of Mohammad Amin Rather of Ashmuji, Kulgam; Sony, 28, daughter of Mohammad Amin Rather of Ashmuji, Kulgam; and Rukaiya, 30, wife of Ajaz Ahmad Mohand of Sangam, Shopian.

All three sustained serious injuries in the collision and are reported to be in critical condition.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the crash.

The incident comes amid a spate of road accidents in south Kashmir, with authorities urging motorists to follow traffic rules and exercise caution, particularly on busy routes. [KNT]
