New Delhi: Home Minister of India Amit Shah is set to chair a high-level meeting in New Delhi today to review preparations for the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
The meeting was originally scheduled for June 8 but was rescheduled to June 12 due to the Home Minister’s preoccupation. Top officials from Jammu and Kashmir had been informed about the revised schedule.
Official sources said the review will focus on all aspects of the annual pilgrimage, including security arrangements, healthcare facilities, sanitation, accommodation and other services being put in place for pilgrims.
Senior officers from the GoI Home Ministry, the Jammu and Kashmir administration, security agencies and other departments concerned are expected to attend the meeting to assess the level of preparedness and ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the yatra.
