Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday strongly condemned the terror attack in Anantnag in which Head Constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi was killed in the line of duty.
In a statement, Sinha said he reviewed the security situation with Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat following the attack.
Expressing condolences to the bereaved family, the Lieutenant Governor said the entire country stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the family of the slain policeman.
Describing the attack as “cowardly” and “heinous”, Sinha said those responsible would not go unpunished.
He added that the Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security forces are on the ground and will bring the perpetrators to justice.
