Jammu: Armed forces on Monday launched search operations in several forward areas along the International Border (IB) and the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba and Rajouri districts following overnight sightings of suspected Pakistani drones.
Officials said alert Army personnel observed suspected drone activity near Nandpur along the International Border in Samba district and in the Tarkundi-Saaj area near the Line of Control in the Nowshera sector of Rajouri district during the night.
Following the sightings, forces launched extensive search operations in the affected areas to rule out any possible infiltration attempt or the presence of suspicious material.
The searches were continuing at the time of filing this report.
Officials said the situation is being closely monitored, while security has been heightened across the forward areas as a precautionary measure. [KNT]
