New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is planning to place its headquarters, confidential documents and examination-related materials under round-the-clock security surveillance, according to media reports.
The move comes amid concerns over examination paper leaks, including those involving the NEET, and protests that followed across the country.
According to a Times of India report, the NTA has floated a tender estimated at Rs 7.5 crore to deploy security personnel at its Minto Road headquarters, regional office in Okhla and other locations.
Issued on July 25, the tender will be valid for two years initially and can be extended twice for one year each. Bids can be submitted until 3 pm on August 17.
The selected security agency will be responsible for monitoring NTA employees and visitors, as well as its premises, confidential examination material, server rooms, strong rooms, warehouses and record rooms.
Security personnel will also regulate entry and exit, verify employees and visitors, maintain records and ensure that only authorised individuals access restricted areas.
The report said bidders must have at least five years of experience in professional security services and an average annual turnover of Rs 10 crore over the previous three financial years.
They must also have experience providing security at high-security establishments, including examination agencies, universities, airports, hospitals or metro systems.
