Arms and ammunition recovered in Karnah along Line of Control, says Police

Srinagar: In what is being termed as a major success to armed forces deployed in Karnah, a huge recovery was made in the late hours of Sunday.

“On the night of 28 March in a specific intelligence based joint operation by Indian Army & JKP, five AK Rifles & Seven Pistols with a host of magazines and ammunition were recovered. The operation was conducted in very close proximity of the line of control in Dhanni village which is under direct observation of Pak Army posts in Lipa Valley,” the forces said in a statement.

“Security agencies and civil administration in Karnah Tehsil continue to work hand in hand to negate the security threat to the people in the Union Territory of J&K,” the statement added.

In the last two years, a total of 16 weapons & over 50 KG of narcotics has been recovered from Karnah.
