Anantnag: A militant has been killed in a military operation in Srigufwara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday late evening.

Police officials said that an unidentified militant has been killed in Khush Roi Kalan area of Srigufwara Anantnag.
The operation began after a joint team of police, Army, and CRPF launched a search operation after receiving information about the presence of militants in the area.
They said that as the joint team of armed forces intensified searches towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them triggering the operation.
Pertinently, this is the third military operation against militants in south Kashmir in the last 12 hours.
Earlier, four militants were killed in twin operations- two in Chowgam Shopian and two others were killed in Hardumir Tral.
