Don’t issue policy statements without consulting top brass: UJC to militants

Srinagar: United Jihad Council on Friday said the militants should desist from issuing statements regarding the ‘policy’ and ‘freedom’ matters without consulting the top brass.

In an email, the spokesperson of the UJC, Syed Sadaqat Hussian, while quoting UJC chief Syed Salahuddin said, “Militants should desist from issuing statements on the ground and consult the top commanders regarding policy  and ‘freedom matters’.”

The statement came after an alleged audio of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Zakir Musa came out in the public domain in which he threatened the Hurriyat leadership.

Musa allegedly says in the audio that they will ‘cut the throats’ of those who call Kashmir a political struggle rather than an Islamic one.

UJC, in the statement also informed that their militants didn’t kill the Indian Army officer Lt. Umar Fayyaz, who according to UJC belonged to a “pro-freedom family”.

The statement also held the Indian agencies responsible for his killing.

UJC spokesman Syed Sadaqat Hussain quoting UJC chief said, “Our militants are not involved in the murder of Lt. Umar Fayaz. Such a killing is condemnable. An officer from a pro-freedom family was murdered by the Indian agencies and the militants are being accused of it to shield the real face of the Indian agencies,” he said.

Salahuddin also pointed out that in the freedom struggle of Kashmir, Al-Qaeda, ISIS and Taliban have no role to play and there is no need to involve them.

“The ongoing freedom struggle aimed to throw the Indian forces out of Kashmir has been started by the people themselves. There is no role of any other force including Al-Qaeda, ISIS and Taliban,” he said.

UJC also maintained that the ISIS has been created by the west to defame Islam and militant outfits.
