‘The GoI was ready for talks with all stakeholders but there would be no invitations to individuals or organisations pushing the separatist agenda’
Srinagar: After Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh said that the government of India (GoI) has found a “permanent solution” to Kashmir Issue, his colleague and Information Minister, M Venkaiah Naidu expressed support to Indian Army operating in Kashmir.
Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat while lauding Major Nitin Leetul Gogoi for using a human shield here on Sunday said that “a dirty war in Jammu and Kashmir calls for innovation”.
Naidu wrote on social media site, Twitter, “Totally agree with #IndianArmy chief’s statement that the dirty war in Jammu and Kashmir calls for innovation.”
Coming to rescue of Major Gogoi – who tied a weaver from Budgam to his jeep and paraded him through at least twelve villages on April 09 – Gen Rawat said such “innovative ways are required to counter the dirty war” underway in Kashmir.
Army initiated a Court of Inquiry (CoI) in to the incident, but Gen Rawat recommended Major Gogoi for army’s commendation medal.
Meanwhile, Rajnath on Sunday said, “we have come up with a permanent solution to solve Kashmir. The initiative has begun. We are moving forward.”
However, he ruled out any talks with resistance leadership.
When asked if the solution was “political in nature”, Rajnath said, “It is too early to discuss it in public. I don’t want to discuss it with the media.”
“Whoever wanted to talk ‘development and peace’ was welcome,” he said when asked whether resistance groups would be invited for talks. “The GoI was ready for talks with all stakeholders but there would be no invitations to individuals or organisations pushing the separatist agenda.”
