Srinagar: The President of Pakistan on Monday urged world community to take notice of “human rights violations” in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing an Iftaar dinner hosted in the honor of Ambassadors of different countries in Islamabad last evening, Mamnoon Hussain highlighted the Issue of Kashmir urging India to “cooperate” with the United Nations and International Community to resolve this lingering issue.
“Kashmiri people must be given their fundamental right to self-determination,” he said while addressing the diplomats of various countries.
Urging the international community to take notice of “rights violations” in Kashmir, he called on India to resume dialogue process to resolve all outstanding issues with Pakistan including Kashmir.
On Monday, briefing media over success of three years of NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Indian Foreign Minister said that Pakistan “cannot” take the Issue of Kashmir to International Court of Justice at The Hague in Netherlands.
However, Sushma Sawraj added “India wants all the issues including Kashmir to be bilaterally solved with Pakistan.”
The Pakistan president in his address also said religious teachings provide a good road map to discourage the menace of terrorism and extremism.
Mamnoon Hussain has said that moderate forces should join hand to eliminate the evils of terrorism and extremism from the world.
The President said Pakistan took a bold step to eliminate terrorists and extremists despite having limited resources.
He said Pakistan’s fight against terrorists is a “precedent” for the world.
