Srinagar: General Secretary, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr Yousuf-Bin-Ahmed Al-Othaimeen has invited the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to the 44th session of OIC Foreign Ministers conference at Cote-D’lvore, Abidjan, on July 10, and 11, 2017.
APHC expressed hope that the OIC will take serious note of the human rights violations and the killing of innocent Kashmiris at the hands of Indian armed forces.
“Since past five years, APHC chairman Mirwaiz has been denied the travel documents thereby barring him from traveling outside the State”, an APHC spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has welcomed the recent speech of Ayatullah Syed Ali Khamenai, the patron of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the subsequent order to Iran’s judiciary to follow and support Kashmir cause.
“This statement has raised the morale of Kashmiri people and we hope that other countries who believe in justice and fairness will follow suit and support the just struggle of the people of Jammu &Kashmir for their right to self determination,” Mirwaiz said.
Meanwhile, APHC strongly condemned the imposition of curfew in downtown yet again.”The government is deliberately imposing curbs in downtown on regular basis so that that economy of that area is crushed,” the spokesperson said.
