FCIK condemns attack on Yatris, calls it a dastardly action

Srinagar: The Federation Chamber of Industries (FCIK) on Tuesday condemned the ‘dastardly action’ in which the innocent Yatris lost their lives and left multiple injured as well.

The FCIK met at its headquarters today on Tuesday at FCIK House Srinagar.

“The house condemned the dastardly action in which the innocent yatris lost their lives and left many wounded as well,” an FCIK statement said.

The meeting was headed by its President Mohammad Ashraf Mir. “Deep condolences were expressed with the bereaved families,” the statement added.

“The Government was also urged to take all necessary steps for safety of Yatris and to ‘bring the culprits to book’ as such types of incidents disturb the communal flavour of the state and also urged all sections of people to maintain peace and calm in this hour of grief,” the statement further added.

Another trade body The Kashmir Chamber Of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) on Tuesday, had organized a protest march.

Pertinently, seven Amarnath pilgrims were killed and 19 injured, after a suspected militant attack on the government forces in Batengoo, a village between Khanbal and Bejbehara, an area of Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier, an Emergency Meeting of the Executive Committee of The Kashmir Chamber Of Commerce & Industry (Inc) was convened today on the 11th of July, 2017 at the Chamber Office.
