Police arrests three in bank robbery, weapon snatching case in Shopian

Srinagar: Shopian police, on Tuesday, has claimed to have arrested three accused individuals involved in the attempt of bank robbery and weapon snatching at Jammu Kashmir Bank Imamsahab.

“By arresting these three accused, Shopian police has foiled their plans to join militant ranks,” said a police statement.

“The incident had taken place on 25th of May 2017 and a case FIR number 107/2017 under section 392, 511 RPC and 13 ULA ( P) act stands registered in Police Station Shopian,” the statement added.

The police statement said that “the trio had a plan of joining the militant ranks, upon successful completion of their attempt.”

As mentioned in the statement, the Shopian police claim to have solved the case by arresting three persons identified as Aqib Malla and Sabzar Khanday, residents of Hillow, and Aqib Malla resident of Trenz.

“Further investigation of the case is going on,” the statement further added.
