NIA produces Hurriyat leaders in Patiala court, demands 20-day remand

New Delhi: A day after National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested seven Hurriyat leaders for their alleged involvement in ‘terror funding’, they were produced in the Patiala House Court by the investigating agency.

As per reports, the NIA has sort a 20-day remand for all the arrested leaders in the ‘illegal money laundering case’.

The arrested include Nayeem Khan, Altaf Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Shahid ul Islam, Mehrajuddin Kalwal, Peer Saifullah and Bitta Karate. Karate was arrested from Delhi while others were arrested from Srinagar.

However, the Joint Resistance Leadership on Monday said that they have nothing to do with Nayeem Khan and Bitta Karate.

The joint leadership has called for a complete strike on Tuesday after NIA conducted raids in Srinagar, Jammu, Delhi and Haryana and reportedly seized incriminating evidence against those involved in receiving, acting as intermediaries and final beneficiaries of funds. The raid was followed by the arrest of seven Hurriyat leaders.
