Two militants involved in SSB attack in Banihal held, claims Police

‘Search to nab third militant on’

Srinagar:Days after an attack on Seema Suraksha Bal personnel in Banihal, police on Friday said that the Army and police in a joint operation arrested two militants while the search to nab the third is going on.

Director General of Police, Dr S. P. Vaid told KNS that two militants involved in the attack have been arrested, with recovery of weapons from their possession.

The two have been identified as Gazanafar, resident of Kaskote and Arif of Ashaar, Banihal. The third has been identified as Aqib Wahid of Kaskote.

“Searches for third militant is going on,” Vaid told KNS.

Two service rifles, including an AK assault rifle and an Insas rifle, which were snatched during the attack, were also recovered from their possession, he said.

The attack took place on Wednesday in Banihal region.
