Kashmir University postpones all exams scheduled for Saturday

Srinagar: The University of Kashmir has decided to postpone all scheduled examinations scheduled for Saturday.

“All Kashmir University examinations scheduled to be held on October 21, 2017 (Saturday) are postponed. Fresh dates for the deferred examinations shall be notified separately, later,” a university statement said.

The Joint Resistance Leadership has appealed the people to observe ‘civil curfew’ on Saturday against the braid chopping incidents. The JRL has also called for a complete shutdown on Saturday.

On Friday, for the fourth consecutive week, congregational prayers were not allowed at the historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar. Restriction in areas under seven police stations of the city were in place.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was kept under house detention ahead of his address at Char-e-Sharif.
