Appointment of interlocutor won’t affect army operations in the valley: Army chief

Srinagar: Bipin Rawat, the chief of the Indian Army on Wednesday said that the appointment of an interlocutor will not affect the army operations in the state.

The Press Trust of India reported, “Army chief Bipin Rawat says appointment of interlocutor for J-K will not impact Army operations in the state.”

On Monday Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh while announcing a sustained dialogue to solve the vexed Kashmir issue, appointed the former Intelligence Bureau chief Dineshwar Sharma as the centre’s interlocutor.

His appointed was hailed by the state government however the opposition has called it a ‘waste of time’.

However, on Tuesday, Sharma said that his doors are open for anyone including Hurriyat.

Rajnath Singh had said that Sharma will decide with whom he would hold talk.
