Srinagar: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Saturday convened a meeting to review the arrangements for the construction of the Mini Secretariat at erstwhile Batamaloo Bus Stand here.
During the meeting, issues concerning the establishment of the Mini Secretariat were discussed and suggestions sought for their best possible settlement.
The meeting also discussed the details of the project which includes a detailed project report worth Rs. 99 crore for its first phase. It was also given out that the Mini Secretariat will house some 50 government offices of the district under one roof.
The DC, while being briefed about the DPR for the Mini Secretariat, said it must include space for an information centre cum help-desk on the ground floor for the convenience of the general public visiting different offices there.
He said the establishment of the Mini Secretariat has been envisaged as one-stop public service delivery for the convenience of the general public of the district.
Shah called on all the concerned officers to ensure that all issues are sorted out before the start of project’s construction work.
The meeting also discussed the status of the rehabilitation plan for the affected shopkeepers of the area and land-filling at the site of construction of the Mini Secretariat.
VC SDA, SE PWD (R&B), RTO Kashmir, SSP Srinagar, SSP Traffic Srinagar, and senior officials from SMC and Town Planning Organization Kashmir attended the meeting.
On the occasion, the DC reiterated instructions to the concerned for ensuring no violations or encroachments occur at or surrounding the erstwhile bus stand.
